What is bio-link A/B testing and why does it matter?
A/B testing means running two variants of the same page to see which gets more clicks. For your link-in-bio (Linktree, Beacons, your own page), tiny changes - button colour, link order, photo vs logo - can swing click-through rate by 20-40%. Most people just guess. This tool lets you mock up two versions side-by-side, see them at the same scale on simulated phone screens, and visually compare them before publishing - which is far cheaper than running a real two-week test.
Are these mockups exact replicas of real bio-link platforms?
They're close visual approximations - same phone-frame proportions, same button stack, same avatar placement. We're not trying to match a specific service pixel-for-pixel because Linktree, Beacons, and others change their UI every few months. The point is to compare two design directions to decide which to actually build. Once you've picked a winner, recreate it in your real platform of choice.
Does my work persist if I close the tab?
Yes. We save both Card A and Card B to your browser's localStorage every time you make an edit. Reload the page and your designs come back exactly as you left them. The "Reset" button wipes them. Note: localStorage is per-browser-per-device - if you open the tool on a different device, you'll start fresh. Use the "Save A as PNG" / "Save B as PNG" exports if you want to keep snapshots outside the tool.
How does the "Copy as image" feature work?
We render the phone preview to a canvas using the html2canvas library (lazy-loaded only when you click export, so the page stays fast). The output is a high-resolution PNG you can drop into Slack, Notion, or a design review document. One caveat: if you used an avatar URL (rather than uploading the file), the image must allow cross-origin requests - most CDN-hosted images work, but some block it. Uploading the file directly always works.
What's the right way to actually run an A/B test?
Change one variable at a time. The "sync" toggle keeps every field linked between A and B except the one you're actively editing - so you can be sure you're testing button colour and not accidentally also testing tagline. Once you pick a winner in this mockup tool, publish it, and run a real two-week test on your live page. The sample-size rule of thumb: you need at least 200 clicks per variant before differences are statistically meaningful.
Why are the themes so different from each other?
On purpose. The five themes - Light, Dark, Gradient, Brutalist, Bento - represent the dominant link-in-bio aesthetics of 2025-2026, each with a very different vibe. Brutalist uses chunky black borders and yellow blocks (great for indie creators); Bento is the iOS-inspired tile layout; Gradient is the saturated soft style most influencers use. Trying your content in three or four wildly different shells is the fastest way to discover which one actually fits your brand voice.
