Why does my post get cut off differently on each platform?
Every social network has its own character limit and inline preview length. X allows 280 characters total. Bluesky allows 300. Threads allows 500. Instagram permits 2200 in the caption but only shows about 125 before "more". LinkedIn shows 140 before "see more" out of 3000. Facebook shows around 250 before "See more" out of 63206. The preview matches each platform's real cutoff so you know exactly what readers will see at a glance.
Does the tool actually post to these platforms?
No. It is a preview only. The tool simulates how each platform would display your text so you can pick the best version before posting. Use the Copy button on each card to copy that platform's truncated text, then paste it into the actual app or scheduler. Nothing leaves your browser, and no accounts are connected.
How are hashtags, mentions, and URLs counted?
The tool counts any token starting with # as a hashtag, any token starting with @ as a mention, and any string starting with http:// or https:// as a URL. Each platform card shows totals so you can spot patterns like too many hashtags for X (where 2 to 3 is recommended) versus Instagram (where up to 30 are allowed). The badges update live as you type.
Is my post text saved anywhere?
No. The text exists only in your browser tab. There is no upload, no analytics on the content, and no copy stored on a server. Once you close the tab the draft is gone, so save anything important elsewhere. This is by design so you can paste sensitive announcements, embargoed news, or pre-launch copy without leaks.
What does the colored bar under each card mean?
The bar shows how close you are to that platform's hard limit. Green is comfortable, amber starts at 90 percent, and red appears when you go over the limit. Going over does not crash the preview but the card warns you with a red message stating exactly how many characters need to be cut. Always trim before posting to avoid platform rejections.
Why does Instagram show so few characters before "more"?
Instagram's feed only displays the first one to two lines of a caption (about 125 characters) before adding a "more" link. Even though you can write up to 2200, anything past that cutoff is hidden until someone taps to expand. The hook in the first 125 characters is therefore the most important part of any Instagram post. The preview simulates this exactly.
