How do I generate a random SVG blob shape?
Open the tool and a blob shape appears immediately with default settings. Click the random button to roll a new shape, or adjust sliders for complexity and contrast to control how irregular the outline is. When you find one you like, copy the SVG code or download an SVG file. Blobs are popular as decorative backgrounds, hero section accents and logo elements because they add organic personality without the cost of a custom illustration.
What do the complexity and contrast sliders control?
Complexity controls how many anchor points the path has, which decides how detailed the outline can be. Higher complexity gives more bumps and bends. Contrast decides how far each anchor point can move from a perfect circle, which controls how irregular the result feels. Low complexity with high contrast gives soft pebble like shapes, while high complexity with high contrast gives jagged organic outlines. Experiment until the blob matches the mood you want.
Can I change the colour of the generated blob?
Yes. There is a colour picker that sets the fill, and a separate option for adding a gradient between two colours. Gradients are exported inside the SVG, so you can drop the file straight into any design tool and the colours come along. If you need more advanced styling, copy the SVG code and edit it by hand, since blobs are just simple path elements with a fill attribute.
In what format can I download or copy the blob?
You can download an SVG file, copy the SVG markup to the clipboard, or copy a CSS background snippet that uses an inline data URL. The SVG file is the most flexible because it scales to any size without quality loss. The CSS snippet is convenient when you only need a single decorative blob and do not want to add another file to your project. The PNG export option is also there for when you need a raster version.
Are the generated blobs unique?
Each press of the random button produces a new shape using a fresh seed, so the chance of getting the same blob twice is extremely low. If you want a specific shape that you can recreate later, copy the seed value shown next to the preview. Pasting the same seed back into the field will reproduce the exact blob. This is helpful when you are iterating on a design and want to compare variations without losing the one you liked.
Do I have to credit the tool when using a generated blob?
No. The blobs are generated mathematically in your browser and are released for free use in personal and commercial projects. There is no licence to attach, no watermark and no attribution requirement. Treat the SVG output as your own work once you save it. This makes the tool a quick way to add a touch of decoration to landing pages, social media graphics or app onboarding screens without legal overhead.
