How do I add names to the wheel?
Type or paste names into the text box, one per line, and the wheel updates automatically as you add or remove entries. You can also paste a comma-separated list and the tool will split it for you. There is no hard limit, but for readability the labels start to overlap past 50 or 60 names, so for very large lists turn on the abbreviated label mode.
Is the spin actually random and fair?
Yes. The winner is picked using your browser's built-in random source before the wheel animation even starts, and the visual spin is then matched to that result. Every name has an equal chance on every spin, regardless of where it sits on the wheel. The animation length and starting angle are cosmetic and do not influence the outcome.
Can I remove a winner so they are not picked again?
Yes. After a spin you will see options to remove the winner from the wheel, keep them in for another draw, or move them to a separate winners list. Remove-on-win is the right choice for raffles and classroom picks where each person should win at most once. For ongoing games where repeats are fine, leave the option off.
Does the wheel work on phones and projectors?
It runs in any modern browser and scales to fit the screen, so it works well on phones, tablets, laptops, and when projected for a classroom or event. For projectors, switch to fullscreen mode and increase the font size in settings so the back row can read the names. The spin sound can be muted if you do not want audio.
Can I save a wheel for next time?
Most builds save your current name list to local browser storage automatically, so it is still there when you return on the same device. To move a list between devices, copy the names out of the text box and paste them into a notes app, or use the import or export option if available. There is no account or login required.
What are good uses for the wheel of names?
Teachers use it to call on students fairly, streamers run giveaways live with viewer names, managers pick a daily standup leader, and families settle who picks the movie or does the dishes. It also works for prize raffles at events, choosing teams, picking a restaurant from a shortlist, and any moment when "let the wheel decide" is more fun than picking yourself.
