How do I play hand cricket?
Hand cricket is the classic Indian schoolyard game. Each ball you and the AI secretly pick a number from 1 to 6. If both numbers match, the batter is out. If they do not match, the batter's number is added to the score as runs. You take turns batting and bowling, and the side with more runs at the end wins.
How does the toss and innings structure work?
A virtual coin toss starts the match and the winner chooses to bat or bowl first. The first innings runs until the batter is out, setting a target. In the second innings the chasing side bats until they are out or pass the target. There are no overs limit, so a single match can be very short or surprisingly long.
Is there a strategy or is it just luck?
There is real strategy. When batting, vary your numbers so the AI cannot predict you, and lean towards 6 only when you sense the AI is repeating itself. When bowling, watch the batter's pattern and try to read their habits. Avoid picking 1 too often because it is the easiest number for the bowler to guess.
Can I play multiple innings or just one match?
Each match is a single innings per side, just like the playground original. After the result is shown, click New Match to play again, optionally choosing a new format. The simple back and forth keeps games short, often under a minute, which captures the casual classroom feel of dabbling between periods or during a break.
Are wins and losses tracked?
A session record tracks how many matches you have won, lost and tied since you opened the page, and your best individual innings score is also displayed. Closing the tab clears these stats. There is no online leaderboard, so the rivalry stays purely between you and the AI, just like the old desk versus desk schoolyard duels.
Does it work on mobile like the real game?
Yes, and the touch interface actually feels closer to the real thing than a keyboard. Tap one of six big buttons numbered 1 through 6 to play your shot or your delivery. The animations show the AI's number a heartbeat after yours, recreating the simultaneous reveal you remember from playing across a school bench.
