What is the goal in Last Over?
You face six balls in a final over with a target the game sets for you, just like a tense T20 finish. You pick a shot type and a direction for every delivery, and the bowler chooses a delivery type and line at the same time. Score enough runs across the six balls to chase down the target and win the match.
How do I pick a shot each ball?
Before every ball, choose a shot from options like a defensive push, a drive, a pull or a big slog, then pick a direction such as off side, leg side or straight down the ground. The bigger the shot, the more runs on offer but the higher the chance of getting out, so balance attack with safety based on the run rate required.
How do shot type and direction interact with the bowler?
The bowler simultaneously selects pace, length and line. If your shot is well suited to the delivery you score boundaries, but a wrong choice leads to a dot ball or a wicket. For example, a slog to a short ball usually clears the rope, but a slog to a yorker often sees the stumps rattled. Reading the field and bowler is half the battle.
How many wickets do I have?
You play with a small wickets in hand budget, usually two or three depending on the scenario, so you cannot just slog every ball. Losing all your wickets ends the match before the over is complete, even if you have not faced six balls. Save your aggressive shots for when the required rate truly demands them.
Is there a strategy for the final two balls?
Reach the last two balls with a manageable target, ideally under twelve runs, by mixing ones and twos in the first four. On the fifth ball commit to a high percentage boundary option that suits the bowler's likely yorker. Save your last big slog for ball six and aim to a side of the ground you have already scored boundaries on earlier in the over.
Can I replay the same target?
Yes, hitting Replay at the end loads the exact same target so you can try a different shot selection and see how it plays out. New Match generates a fresh target and bowler attributes. Use Replay when a tight finish slipped away, and use New Match when you want a clean challenge with no memory of the previous over.
