How does Memory Match work?
Every card starts face down. Click or tap one card to flip it, then click another. If the two faces match they stay revealed, otherwise they both flip back after a brief pause. Your goal is to reveal every pair on the board. Pay attention to cards you flip even when they do not match, because remembering their positions is the whole challenge.
What grid sizes can I choose?
Three sizes are available. The 4x4 grid has 8 pairs and is great for kids or a quick warm up. The 6x6 grid jumps to 18 pairs for a balanced game. The 8x8 grid offers 32 pairs and is a serious memory test. Pick the size from the menu before starting a new round, and your move counter resets each time.
How are score and time tracked?
A timer starts as soon as you flip the first card, and a move counter increments every time you reveal a pair, whether it matched or not. When you clear the board both numbers freeze so you can compare them to your previous attempts. The aim is the lowest move count and the fastest time, not the highest number.
Any tips to improve my score?
Flip cards in a steady pattern, for example always starting from the top left, so you build a mental map of where each face sits. When you spot a matched face for the second time, lock its position in your mind before flipping its partner. Stay calm on bigger boards, because rushing causes you to forget cards you have already seen.
Does my best time persist between sessions?
Best times for each grid size are kept in your browser's local storage so they survive a refresh or reload. Clearing site data or playing in a private window will wipe them. Beating your best time triggers a small celebration banner, which makes the larger 8x8 board especially satisfying once you finally crack it.
Can I play on a phone?
Yes. The grid resizes to fit any screen and tapping a card flips it just like clicking. On the largest 8x8 board the cards become quite small on phones, so a tablet or landscape orientation is more comfortable. The timer and move counter stay visible above the grid no matter the device or screen size.
