How do I play Simon Says?
The game lights up coloured pads in a sequence. Watch carefully, then tap or click the same pads in the same order. Get it right and the sequence grows by one, with a new colour added each round. Get it wrong and the round ends. Your score is the longest sequence you successfully repeated.
How many colours are used?
The classic four colours are used: red, green, blue and yellow. Each colour has its own tone, so you can play partly by ear. The same colour can repeat consecutively in the sequence, which is one of the things that catches new players out. Always rely on both visual and audio cues, not just one of them.
How fast does the sequence get?
The sequence playback speeds up as you progress. The first few rounds are slow and clear, but by round ten the lights flash quickly enough that you must rely on muscle memory rather than careful observation. Many players hit a personal wall around 12 to 15 colours, so a score of 20 plus is genuinely impressive.
Any tips to remember longer sequences?
Group the colours into pairs or triplets in your head, like a phone number. Use the audio tones to hum the sequence as it plays. Do not freeze when you make a small slip, because anxiety usually compounds, but if you completely lose track stop and let the round end rather than guessing wildly and reinforcing the wrong pattern.
Is my best score saved?
Yes. The longest sequence you have ever completed is stored in browser local storage and shown above the pads. Beating it triggers a small celebration animation. Clearing browser data resets the high score. There is no online leaderboard, so your record stays personal, which keeps the game stress free and casual.
Can I mute the sounds?
Yes, a mute toggle is available in the corner. Note that turning sound off makes the game noticeably harder, because the audio tones are a strong memory aid alongside the colours. If you mute, slow your breathing and pay extra attention to the pad order. Sound back on is recommended for breaking your personal best score.
