How do I play Klondike Solitaire?
Build the four foundation piles up by suit from Ace to King. Use the seven tableau columns as a workspace, where you place cards in descending order with alternating red and black colours. Click the stock pile to draw new cards into the waste pile. The round is won when all 52 cards are stacked on the four foundations.
What are the rules for moving cards?
A card or a sequence of cards on the tableau can be moved onto another tableau column, provided the destination top card is one rank higher and the opposite colour. A King, or a sequence starting with a King, can move into an empty column. A card from the waste pile can also move onto the tableau or directly onto a foundation if eligible.
Are draw 1 and draw 3 both supported?
Yes. Draw 1 mode flips one card from the stock to the waste each click and is more forgiving, with most deals winnable. Draw 3 mode flips three cards but only the top one is playable, which is the harder classic Vegas variant. You can switch modes from the menu before starting a new game, but doing so deals a fresh hand.
Are all deals winnable?
In draw 1 mode roughly 80 percent of deals are theoretically winnable with perfect play. In draw 3 only about 12 percent are. The game does not filter deals, so some hands are genuinely lost from the start. If a hand feels stuck, take advantage of the unlimited undo button to back up and try a different play before resigning.
Is there an undo or hint button?
Yes. Undo is unlimited, so you can step back to any earlier position in the round without penalty. A hint button highlights one legal move when you ask for it, which is great for spotting plays you missed. Both buttons are intentionally generous because the goal is enjoyable solving rather than punishing every mistake.
Are wins and best times saved?
Yes. Total games played, total wins and your fastest winning time are stored in browser local storage and shown on the menu. Beating your time triggers a celebration. Clearing browser data resets the stats. There is no online leaderboard, so all rivalry is with your own past self, which is the most rewarding kind of solitaire competition.
