Can the calendar generator print any year?
Yes. You can generate calendars for any year from the distant past to far in the future. The Gregorian calendar rules (every fourth year is a leap year, except centuries unless divisible by 400) are applied consistently. Years before 1582 used the Julian calendar in many countries, but the generator uses the proleptic Gregorian calendar throughout for simplicity.
How does it know which years are leap years?
A year is a leap year if it is divisible by 4, except years divisible by 100 are not leap years unless they are also divisible by 400. So 2000 was a leap year, 1900 was not, 2024 is, and 2100 will not be. The generator applies these rules and shows February 29 only in qualifying years.
Does the calendar start the week on Sunday or Monday?
You can choose. The United States and Canada conventionally start the week on Sunday, while most of Europe and the ISO 8601 standard start on Monday. The generator lets you switch the first column so the layout matches what you are used to. Print previews update accordingly.
Can I add holidays or events to the printed calendar?
You can typically add notes for specific dates before printing. For a full holiday list, enter the holidays for your country manually because public holiday rules differ by region and change year to year. National observances, religious holidays, and floating holidays like Easter all need to be specified rather than assumed.
What date format does the printed calendar use?
You can pick between US-style (month/day/year), European (day/month/year), and ISO 8601 (year-month-day). The choice only affects any explicit dates in the header or footer; the grid itself shows day numbers without ambiguity. Pick the format your audience expects to avoid confusion.
Does the calendar handle the daylight saving time transitions?
A printed calendar does not show times of day, so DST transitions are not marked by default. You can add notes on the relevant Sundays in March and November (or your country's equivalent dates) if you want a visual reminder. The date math itself is unaffected because DST changes the clock, not the date.
