Which dice types does the roller support?
Standard tabletop dice are all included: D4 (4-sided), D6 (cube), D8, D10, D12, D20 (icosahedron), and D100 (percentile). You can also enter a custom number of sides for unusual dice. Each die is rolled with a uniformly random integer between 1 and the number of sides, so every face has exactly equal probability.
Can I roll multiple dice at once?
Yes. Specify the count, like 3D6 for three six-sided dice, and the roller shows each die's result plus the total. You can mix dice types in advanced mode (for example 2D6 + 1D8 + 4) to handle Dungeons & Dragons style rolls with modifiers. The total includes any plus or minus modifier you set.
Are the dice fair, or is there a "lucky" bias?
They are fair. Every face on every die has exactly equal probability and each roll is independent of the previous one. If you feel a die is "cold" after several low rolls, that is a cognitive illusion; the next roll has the same chance of any number as the first roll did. Real physical dice can be biased due to manufacturing; virtual dice cannot.
What is the difference between rolling 2D6 and rolling 1D12?
Both produce a number between 2 and 12, but with very different distributions. 1D12 is uniform: every value from 2 to 12 has roughly the same chance (and 1 is also possible, giving 1-12 actually). 2D6 is bell-shaped: 7 is the most likely sum and 2 or 12 are rarest. RPG systems exploit this difference deliberately, so use the right one for your game.
Does the roller support advantage and disadvantage rolls?
Yes. Advantage rolls 2D20 and keeps the higher result; disadvantage keeps the lower. These rules from Dungeons & Dragons 5th edition swing the average by about 3-4 points, which makes a big difference. Some rollers also include "exploding dice" (re-roll on max), drop-lowest, and reroll-once features for systems like Shadowrun or D&D character generation.
Can I save my dice configurations?
Yes, where supported. Save expressions like "fireball damage = 8D6" or "attack roll = 1D20 + 7" and reuse them with one click. Stored configurations live in your browser local storage, so they are private to your device. Clearing browser data will erase them, so write down anything important.
